I woke up this morning and while I was showering (sorry for that visual) I started thinking about my time in Maine. It was 2 years ago but, it still feels like I have unfinished business.
Why? I felt like Dave, Michelle and I had something really special...something that could've been huge and it was taken away from us (in the form of my job). You don't have the ratings turnaround that the morning show had during my time there and not realize something good is going on.
I know I told Dave this, not sure about Michelle, but I thought we had a show that could've been syndicated on other stations in New England. Our listeners were (and probably still are) fantastic. I thought we could've kicked some serious ass.
Here's how you know your show made the other stations nervous....when the program director of the competing country station gives you a job reference. Thanks for that by the way, Matty.
Couldn't ask for better interaction. But that was taken away from us because of poor business decisions in the past by the corporate people.
Am I coming back to Maine? No. Unless it's for a vacation. I'm happy working in Akron at 1590 WAKR. I do ask the "what if" question every now and then.
