CLE Aint So Bad.

Earlier, I posted an article on my Facebook page from Feb of 2010 claiming that Cleveland was the most miserable city in the USA. Here's the article. It lists things that we, if you live here, already know. Crime is high, our sports teams stink, the weather usually stinks along with the drive to and from work. Instead of beating the city down more than it already is, let's try and build it up.

If you've never been to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, you're missing out. Every time I've been there, I stumble upon something new. Cleveland also gets its fair share kick ass concerts. I just came from a place where, if you wanted to see a really good show, chances are you're driving to Boston. If Cleveland was so awful, good acts wouldn't come here, but they do and they keep coming back.

The cultural diversity in Cleveland is something that should be celebrated. Cleveland is a melting pot in every sense. Black, White, Hispanic, Italian, Polish, Irish. Name it, its here. Which leads to insanely good food. Food you won't get anywhere else. My twitter feed is mostly consisted of people bragging about which killer restaurant they just went too.

Not many places can brag about their theater district. Hell, most places don't have a theater district. Cleveland has one of the best theater districts in the country. I'll admit that I'm not really into musicals and shows, but my wife is and I get dragged along to them and they've been killer. Not many places get a 2 week run of Broadway shows. Cleveland does.

I could keep going but I think you're getting what I'm saying. There's a reason why people leave and come back. Cleveland, at it's core, is a good, blue collar city with a lot of hidden gems that, outside of Cleveland, people don't see. People want to kick us while we are down. Let'em, we'll get back up. Always do. We know our flaws, we don't need some article to tell us that. We also know that it ain't so bad. Be proud of where you're from.
