I'm All In On Spiritbox

The is isn't going to be for everybody but, I wanted to bring to your attention a Hard Rock/Metal band that I stumbled upon.

I'd like to introduce you to Spiritbox. They're starting to get some eyeballs and ear-holes with their new single, "Constance"

"Constance" is a more melodic sound for Spiritbox but, they do go heavier. A lot heavier.

Courtney LaPlante's ability to both beautifully sing and then bust out some serious yelling/growling is a nice change of pace. Usually it's one or the other or you get two vocalists. Courtney does both and I love it.

You can check out their YouTube channel for more. But Spiritbox is one of those bands that's bubbling just underneath the surface and I hope they blow up!

WATCH: Deck the Halls vs. Black Sabbath

I'm not a Christmas music fan. It's just not my thing. BUUUUUT! Every now and then a song comes along that even I cannot deny it's magic.

Meet my new favorite Christmas song. Deck the Halls but it's Black Sabbath!

Maybe if more Christmas tunes sounded like Black Sabbath songs I could get into it.  Jingle Bells meets Electric Funeral? Over the River and Through the Woods meets Paranoid? You'd have my attention then.

Wasted Talent

Whitney Houston died. Reports say that prescription drugs were found in her hotel room. This should come as a shock to nobody. Why? This woman's past is laced with drug and alcohol abuse. So when it was announced that she died, we all thought the same thing. Is it sad that she died? Yes. The REAL tragedy is that another person, that was blessed with all of the talent in the world, wasted it. Whether it was wasted up her nose or in a bottle of alcohol or in a bottle of pills. It was God given talent wasted. Again.

Call me a heartless whatever, but I don't feel bad for people who waste their talent. She brought this on herself. Which sounds terrible but some people spend their entire lives trying to figure out why they are here, what they are supposed to be doing with their lives only to never find out. While other people who are blessed with all of the talent in the world and they waste it.

Two weeks ago, Whitney Houston would've been a punch line in a joke or in an SNL skit. Today, its the greatest tragedy in the world ever. Never mind the people in Syria being slaughtered by their own government. Whitney Houston, pill popping and her snorting her life away, is the real tragedy (sarcasm). Before you send me angry comments and tweets, keep perspective of what's going on in the rest of the world.

Hopefully, Whitney has found her peace.
