People drop things all the time at zoos in enclosures.
One woman dropped her sunglasses and a zoo in Indonesia and a curious orangutan picked them up and had some fun with the glasses.
On a personal note, I would like to see more monkeys in sunglasses. I think the world would be a better place if more primates wore sunglasses.
