There are two interesting, I think, ways to look at this.
One: With COVID protocols, is it easier to get dressed for the game at home? If you get dressed at home you don't have to be in the locker room with a bunch of other dudes in close spaces.
Two: Is this the only way baseball players can get recognized now? Let's be real, baseball's popularity has taken a nosedive in recent years. I love baseball but if Bryce Harper walked by me, I probably wouldn't recognize him. So showing up at a gas station in full uniform might be the only way these dudes get recognized by a casual fan.
