Survive and Thrive...that's going to be my motto for 2012 and from now on. I don't want to sound like a motivational speaker, but here's the thing. We're going/gone through (depending on who you listen to) the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression and we're still here. It's tough out there....but we're surviving. Now it's time to get up off the ground and thrive. Survive and thrive.
Too often I see people bitching and moaning about their jobs. Your job may suck, I don't know what you do, but there are PLENTY of people who would love nothing more but to switch places with you and take your crappy job. Make the most out of what you have. I saw on Facebook today that a buddy of mine is up for a promotion at Wal-Mart. Hate on Wal-Mart all you want, but he's moving up the ladder, what are you doing? What ladder are you climbing or are you just spinning your tires? Survive and Thrive.
If you think you're destined for big things...make it happen. The universe won't hand it to you. Gotta work for it. Too often people, especially my generation and younger, want and expect things just to fall in their laps. That's not gonna happen. Some people catch lucky breaks. Other people work to create their own breaks. You can wait on greatness or you can work to be great. Let me know what happens first.
